Dantas, Hanefeld lead GPO Waterville’s Abby Spector records 72, makes tourney cut

PORTLAND, Maine – Kirk Hanefeld of Bolton, Mass., shot a 7-under-par 64 Thursday to share the second-round lead with Jeffrey Dantas of Pawtucket, R.I., at 133 in the Greater Portland Open at Riverside Golf Course.

Dantas shot a 66 to go with his 67 a day earlier.

Rich Parker of Lebanon, N.H., fired a 68 and was in third place at 135.

Abby Spector of Waterville shot a 72 Thursday for a two-day total of 146, good enough to make the cut for Round 3.

Spector, who has the third-highest amateur score so far, will tee off Friday at 8 a.m. with amateurs Matthew Plosker of Somerset and John Bauman of Kennebunk.

The 54-hole tournament, which runs through Friday, has a top prize of $8,000 and an overall purse of $24,000.
