VASSALBORO – Two elderly people were killed late Friday afternoon when their car was struck broadside by another car on Route 32.

The man in the car died at the scene of the accident, while the woman died after being taken to a hospital, WCSH-TV reported.

Three teenagers who were in the other car were not seriously injured.

The Kennebec County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
