Deputy’s cruiser collides with car in Route 2 crash

WEST ENFIELD – A Penobscot County sheriff’s deputy suffered minor injuries when his cruiser was involved in an accident Sunday morning.

Deputy David Duplisea, 43, was heading north on Route 2 at 9:12 a.m. when his cruiser collided with a vehicle being driven by Judith Lindquist, 60, of Howland. She was making a left turn off Route 2 from the southbound lane into the driveway of her son’s home, according to Trooper David Millett of the Maine State Police.

Duplisea was on his way to Penobscot Valley Hospital in Lincoln to follow up on a single-vehicle accident earlier Sunday that involved a drunken driver, according to Millett.

The front driver’s side of the cruiser struck the front passenger side of Lindquist’s vehicle, spinning her car around. The cruiser came to rest in a ditch, said Millett.

Lindquist suffered a leg injury, according to state police. Her condition was not available Sunday from PVH. Duplisea was treated at the Lincoln hospital and released.

Both vehicles were demolished, according to Millett. An accident reconstruction team from the Bangor Police Department was called to the scene.

Millett said that the state police are investigating the accident because it involved another law enforcement agency.
