On Monday, Oct. 6, Lise M. Auxier will open State Street Optics at 207 State St. (across from Miller Drug) in Bangor. The new business will provide retail optical services 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays, and by appointment evenings and Saturdays. Home, nursing home and rehabilitation center visits also will be available. Karin Marshall Wilkes, formerly of Packard Wilkes Design Associates in Bangor, has opened her own graphic design office in downtown Ellsworth. KMW DESIGN creates advertising and marketing with an emphasis on corporate branding. Wilkes has extensive experience in strategic planning and concept development, and has worked with a wide range of clients including corporations and nonprofit organizations. Projects include advertising campaigns, branding programs and logos, corporate communications, annual reports, capital campaigns and Web sites. Wilkes has 15 years’ experience in marketing and business management. She studied commercial illustration at Parsons School of Design in New York City and holds a bachelor’s degree in studio art from the University of Maine. Christopher Crowley and Catherine Whitney bring more than 58 years of housing experience to their new firm, C&C Realty Management LLC, which is offering property management and property development services statewide. Both started their careers at the Maine State Housing Authority, where Crowley was the multifamily administrator for development and Whitney was the multifamily administrator for management. They later joined one of Maine’s largest real estate management firms, which administered a substantial Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program for MSHA in three Maine counties. They also managed more than 26 properties, both residential and commercial, and ran the day-to-day operations of that company for 16 years.
