Shelly Seipp

Shelly Seipp of the University of Maine has been named the Baden America East Volleyball Rookie of the Week. The freshman setter from Spokane, Wash., tallied 61 assists in a five-game loss to Maryland Baltimore County and added 29 in Saturday’s loss to Florida Atlantic. She also racked up 23 assists in Saturday’s loss to Connecticut.

Amy Holt

Amy Holt of the University of Maine has been named the America East Women’s Soccer Rookie of the Week. The freshman goalkeeper from Hamilton, Ontario, made her first career start in the Black Bears’ 1-0 win over Iona, during which Holt made four saves en route to a shutout.

Rachael Hilgar

Rachael Hilgar of the University of Maine has been named the America East Field Hockey Player of the Week. The forward from Barto, Pa., scored two goals in the Black Bears’ overtime win at Providence on Friday, then tallied another in Saturday’s win over Rhode Island.

Greg Dolbec

Greg Dolbec of the University of Southern Maine in Gorham has been chosen the Little East Conference Runner of the Week. The senior from Newfield finished ninth among 164 runners ta the Twin Brook Invitational held Saturday in Cumberland. He covered the 8,000-meter course in 27 minutes, 2 seconds.

Jessie Superchi

Jessie Superchi of the University of Southern Maine in Gorham has been selected as the Little East Conference Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week. The senior goalie posted three shutouts last week, extending her streak of consecutive scoreless minutes to 336:45. She made 15 saves combined in the three games.

Ryan Conrad

Ryan Conrad of Thomas College in Waterville has been chosen the North Atlantic Conference Men’s Soccer Co-Player of the Week. The freshman from Augusta made several key saves in an overtime tie against Saint Joseph’s and allowed only one goal in an OT win against Maine Maritime Academy.

Meredith Arute

Meredith Arute of Thomas College in Waterville has been named the North Atlantic Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week. The junior from Jackson scored two goals in a win over Western New England and had an assist in a victory over Castleton State.

Nick Scott

Nick Scott of the University of Maine-Farmington has been chosen the North Atlantic Conference Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week. The junior from Monmouth finished sixth in the Pop Crowell Invitational at Gordon College, covering the five miles in 28 minutes flat.

Christina Rich

Christina Rich of the University of Maine-Machias has been named the Sunrise Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. The forward from Glenburn set a school record with six goals in a single game.

Brett Howarth

Brett Howarth of the University of Maine-Machias has been named the Sunrise Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. The forward from Derby, England, scored 11 goals and assisted on three others in a 3-0 week.

Sadat Abdul-Karim

Sadat Abdul-Karim of the University of Maine-Fort Kent has been selected as the Sunrise Conference Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. The midfielder/defender from Nigeria scored two goals and provided four assists in a 2-0 week for the Bengals.

Steve Kasperski

Steve Kasperski of Colby College in Waterville has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Football Co-Defensive Player of the Week. The junior linebacker from Naperville, Ill., made 19 tackles, including 13 solos, to help the White Mules earn a 15-13 victory at Middlebury.

Molly Rice

Molly Rice of Colby College in Waterville has been chosen the New England Small College Athletic Conference Field Hockey Co-Player of the Week. The freshman goalie from South Portland racked up a school-record 26 saves in a 3-2 loss to sixth-ranked Middlebury and had four stops in a win against UMaine-Farmington.
