It was very disappointing to read the Bangor Daily News’ coverage of the presentation of Bangor’s incorporation papers in “Bangor council welcomes lessons in city’s history” (BDN, Sept. 24).
I watched the meeting on the news and was so pleased with it, as not many towns or cities in Maine have their incorporation papers.
“Seth Noble” appeared in costume to read the document to Bangor’s City Council. Descendants of the Noble family presented it, as three generations came quite a distance to be there.
But in the BDN why didn’t it show a picture of the document? Where were pictures of the Rev. Seth Noble’s descendants? Where was the picture of Mr. Fisher in costume as the Rev. Noble? Where was the true information?
That evening was one of important history to Bangor, but the BDN missed that completely.
