ROCKLAND – Jonathan Smith rushed for four of his five touchdowns and 203 of his 235 yards in the second half Friday night to lead the Maine Central Institute Huskies to a 50-32 high school football victory over Rockland.
Smith finished with 18 carries, scoring on runs of 1, 19, 38 and 53 yards and also caught a 25-yard TD pass as the Huskies scored five TDs in the second half to Rockland’s two.
Tailback-cornerback Trevor Davis, who left the game midway through the second quarter with a leg injury, gained 114 yards and scored two TDs on 16 carries for the Tigers, whose offense stalled in the third quarter. Greg Crupi carried the ball 13 times for 102 yards.
Three Rockland two-way starters left the game with injuries.

At Carmichael Field in Bucksport, Chris Woodman carried 14 times for 161 yards, including a 41-yard scoring jaunt, to help the Golden Bucks beat the pesky Crusaders.
Joey Carmichael completed 6 of 15 passes for 71 yards, including a 14-yard scoring toss to Nick Tymoczko, who also turned in a 25-yard TD run.
John Harvey raced 90 yards with a kickoff return for the Bucks’ other TD.
Anthony Alvarez scored on a 4-yard first-quarter run for John Bapst of Bangor. Travis Carey netted 71 yards on 22 carries and George Keefe completed 9 of 23 passes for 111 yards.

Tyler Gardiner made 14 tackles for the Lynx.

At Reggie Clark Field in Skowhegan, the Indians spotted the Eagles a first-quarter touchdown, then shut them out the rest of the way.
Jared Walker turned in a 19-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and added the PAT kick to give Skowhegan the lead for good in the first quarter. He posted a 13-yard scoring run in the third quarter.
Nick Adams recovered a fumble in the end zone for the Indians’ other score.
Bryan Prelgovisk provided the TD for Messalonskee of Oakland with a 4-yard run in the first quarter.

At Madison, halfback Brad Bryant carried the ball 49 times for 236 yards and two touchdowns as he led the Livermore Falls Andies past the Bulldogs.
Dave Hanson scored the last of the 4-1 Andies’ three straight unanswered touchdowns with a 3-yard rush in the fourth quarter.
Allen Berry gained 68 yards on eight carries and Matt Steward had 52 yards on 18 attempts for the 3-2 Bulldogs. Junior linebacker Tony Fortin was Madison’s leading tackler. Paul Brousseau caught a 63-yard touchdown pass from Justin Watt.

Mt. Blue scored 21 unanswered points after a 14-14 stalemate in the first quarter. Garrett Lake completed five of nine passes for 33 yards.
Ricky Brown gained 111 yards and scored both TDs on 18 carries for the Rams.
