Ron Whitcomb

Ron Whitcomb of the University of Maine has been named the Atlantic 10 Football Conference Rookie of the Week. The freshman quarterback from East Rochester, N.Y., completed 19 of 31 passes for 189 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions in the Black Bears’ 20-13 victory over James Madison. Whitcomb now has 13 TD passes this season, a UMaine freshman record.
