Throw in the towel

There’s a spider in the kitchen, but don’t worry, it’s not going anywhere. It’s part of Crate & Barrel’s trio of Halloween-themed dish towels, which makes a festive addition to any kitchen. They cost $7.95, and if you hurry, they can be here by Friday. They are available at www.crateand

barrel.com or by calling (800) 967-6696.

Eat to your health

October is sun-dried tomato month (who knew?) – you can celebrate this anti-oxidant-rich fruit by serving Mooney Farms’ Tuscan Fettuccini with Sun-Dried Tomatoes. To prepare, cook 1 pound fettuccini. Drain oil from 1 8.5-ounce jar of julienne-cut sun-dried tomatoes packed in olive oil and herbs into a skillet and set tomatoes aside. Saute 2 to 4 cloves pressed garlic (to taste) and 1/2 cup chopped onion in olive oil until fragrant. Add 1 cup coarsely chopped basil leaves, sun-dried tomatoes, 1/4 cup sliced black olives and cooked pasta to pan and toss lightly. Add salt and pepper to taste. For a spicier version add crushed red pepper flakes. Top with 8 ounces freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Serve warm. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
