WASHINGTON – The Supreme Court refused to intervene Thursday to halt the seizure of a home in Biddeford, Maine.
The three-family home is owned by Dorothy LaFortune, whose local call-in show on the city’s public-access cable TV channel had been taken off the air by city officials.
Lafortune, acting as her own attorney, claimed that the foreclosure was being carried out in retaliation for her show. She had asked the high court for an emergency stay.
Although the stay was denied, Lafortune said she hopes the justices will agree to hear her appeal.
