Bangor pair arrested in N.H. robbery probe

Jason T. Kenyon, 22, and his girlfriend, Crystal Graham, 21, both of Bangor, were arrested by local police late Friday night in connection with an armed robbery in New Hampshire two weeks ago.

The Bangor Police Department received warrants for Kenyon and Graham issued to Manchester, N.H., police after the two were linked to a robbery on Oct. 27. A man said two men and a woman took money from him at gunpoint and fled.

Bangor police are familiar with Kenyon and Graham. Kenyon recently made bail for a stabbing incident last week in Bangor, reported Bangor police Officer Chad Foley.

Foley and Officer Chris Desmond arrested the two separately eight minutes apart late Friday night.

According to police, a New Hampshire man had met Graham at the Brass Monkey bar in Manchester. After dropping off a friend, he went to pick her up at her apartment in Manchester. They drove around, stopped for a soda and eventually pulled up to an apartment.

The man told police he saw movement to his left and turned to see a man with a gun who ordered him out of the truck and demanded all his money. A second man, smaller in stature, was nearby indicating he too had a gun.

The driver handed over $8, an amount that angered the first man and prompted him to demand he empty out all his pockets and wallet. The man told police he handed over more money, a total of about $80, and that the three robbers then fled.

Hearing a woman scream for help while on a police detail inside the Econo Lodge on Odlin Road early Saturday morning, Bangor police Officer Edward A. Mercier went to investigate.

On the fourth floor he found Daniel Bray, 26, of Deer Isle half-carrying and pulling his fiancee into a room. Mercier ordered Bray to release his fiancee. When Bray did, Mercier took him into custody, charging him with assault.

Later the fiancee thanked the officer for intervening and told Mercier she had been too afraid to return to their room after Bray became angry with her. She said that Bray only punched other things in the past, including walls.
