Patricia Plourde of West Enfield has been named assistant admissions director for the New England School of Communications, an affiliate of Husson College. Plourde will be responsible for recruiting potential students in Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. A 2002 graduate of NESCom, she received a two-year associate degree in communications with an emphasis on marketing and public relations.

John Marden, a member of the family that owns and operates Marden’s Surplus and Salvage, was elected president of the Maine Merchant Association’s board of directors at the group’s annual meeting in September. The Maine-based chain, which was founded by the late Mickey Marden, now operates 12 stores throughout the state. Also, Erik Lausten of Danica Design, a Rockport candle-maker and gift shop, was named vice president of the merchant association’s board.

Shelly L. Pellerin of Stockton Springs has been named relationship manager for KeyBank. In her new role, Pellerin will develop and serve individual and small business client accounts in the Belfast, Camden and Rockland areas. Pellerin has 17 years experience in the financial services industry, previously working as a business development officer for both Citizens Bank in Exeter, N.H, and Fleet Bank in Hampton, N.H.

Jeremy J. Dubay of Hampden has been named a commercial loan officer for Bangor Savings Bank. Dubay has worked as a credit analyst and has worked in commercial lending. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Maine.

Bangor Savings Bank has announced the promotion of Jim Timmins, vice president of Investment Services Group, to senior trust officer. Timmins began his career with Bangor Savings Bank in 1982 as a management trainee, and through his banking career filled the roles of teller supervisor, branch manager, security officer, trust officer and senior trust administrative officer. He was promoted to assistant vice president in 1984 and vice president in 1988.

Garrel Craig of Brewer has joined Bangor Savings Bank as the branch manager on Hammond Street in Bangor. Craig has more than four years of experience in the banking industry and has also worked in bookkeeping and accounting.

J. Dennis McNeish of Winthrop, a fisheries biologist for over thirty years, and the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife’s current fishery resource planner, has been promoted to fisheries research and management supervisor. McNeish is responsible for supervising Maine’s statewide fisheries research and management program, as well as leading the regional fisheries management programs and the fisheries research unit. McNeish began his career as an assistant regional biologist in the Moosehead region, and later became the head regional fisheries in the Down East region. He later became the regional biologist for the Belgrade Lakes area, a position he held until he became the state’s fishery research planner in 1998. He has bachelor’s degree in biology from Clarion University in Pennsylvania, and a master’s degree in zoology from the University of Maine.

Edward Roberts has been named vice president of sales at The Hinckley Company. Based out of Southwest Harbor, Roberts is responsible for worldwide sales of Hinckley’s full line of yachts. He also oversees the operations of Hinckley sales offices in Portsmouth, R.I.; Annapolis, Md.; West Palm Beach, Fla.; and Bay Harbor, Mich. Prior to joining Hinckley, Roberts worked 15 years for Grand Banks Yachts, most recently as vice president of sales and marketing. He is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and has done graduate studies in architecture at the Rhode Island School of Design.

Jeff Johnson was recently hired as a CLEC field technician for Mid-Maine Communications and Erik Bourget was promoted to systems engineer. Curry is responsible for maintaining the operations of MMC internal networks. He brings with him more than 12 years of technical experience, most recently with Lucent Technologies. Johnson also served in the U.S. Navy before joining Lucent. Bourget has been with Mid-Maine since early summer, previously working as a Web programmer.
