Labbe, Bouchard spark Fort Kent

FORT KENT – Monique Labbe and Ashley Bouchard each drove in three runs to lead the Fort Kent Warriors to a 14-2 high school softball win over the Van Buren Crusaders Monday in the mutual opener.

Labbe tripled, doubled and singled and Bouchard had three singles. Marissa Albert chipped in with a 4-for-4 effort that included two doubles, two singles and two RBIs.

Lisa Levesseur notched three singles and an RBI for Van Buren.

At Woodland, Tiffany Wormell tripled, doubled and singled and knocked in five runs as Woodland beat East Grand of Danforth.

Lacey Gillespie had four singles and drove in three runs and and Eryn Crowe had two singles and three RBIs for the Dragons. Courtney Cochran had a three-run double.

Lisha Dodge tripled and doubled and drove in three runs for East Grand and Jackie Dodge singled twice and had an RBI.

At Houlton, Erica McDougal allowed just four runs on three hits while striking out 12 to help lead Washburn to the win.

Sarah Davis had two singles with two RBIs for Washburn and Kristen Goupille hit three singles.

Jessica Jago hit a triple to drive in two runs for Greater Houlton Christian Academy.

At Stacyville, Pam Spooner hit three singles and scored two runs to lead Ashland past Katahdin.

Danielle Long and Lindsey Long each hit an RBI single for the Hornets.

Lindsay Albert had three singles and an RBI for Katahdin.

At Mars Hill, Sarah Long hit a triple, double, and two singles to help lead Central Aroostook.

Alicia Rideout hit a grand slam and a single for the Panthers and Alisha Coty had a triple with three RBIs. Sami Brewer had two singles with two RBIs and Andi Long hit a double and a single.

Sara Brewer doubled and singled with two RBIs for Hodgdon as Kim Harvey and Amanda Scott each had a double.

At East Machias, Mary Mawhinney hit a double and two singles to drive in five runs to lead Washington Academy.

Adrianne Merritt hit a triple, double, and a single to knock in four runs for the Raiders and Lauren Finn had a triple, two doubles, and a single with three RBIs. Carilla Fritz hit a two-run inside-the-park home run.

Celia Cummings had a triple and four RBIs for Shead of Easport and Skylar Richardson drove in two runs.

At Limestone, Evan Boutilier drove in four runs with a double and a single and Zach Austin knocked in three with a pair of base hits as Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook triumphed.

Adam Anderson contributed a pair of singles and Andrew Edwards had a two-run single.

Andrew Kirchner doubled and singled for Limestone, Mike Hancock singled twice and Will Barker had a two-run double.

At Fort Kent, Dustin Cyr slammed a two-run double and added a sacrifice fly to power the Crusaders.

Andrew Taylor chipped in with a two-run double for the winners.

Adam Jandreau doubled, singled and drove in two runs for Fort Kent and Bud Soucy singled twice.

At Mars Hill, R.J. Richardson had three singles and a double to knock in three runs and help lead Central Aroostook past Hodgdon.

James Richards had a double and two singles with three RBIs for the Panthers and Paul Donahue doubled and singled.

Colby McGary doubled for Hodgdon.

At Stacyville, junior righthander Cameron Cunningham allowed only two hits, struck out 14 and walked two to lead the Cougars.

Patrick Willett cranked a two-run homer for the winners and Jared Anderson added a solo homer and single.

Jeremy Baker slammed a two-run homer for the Hornets.

At Woodland, righty Adam Hunt struck out all nine hitters he faced and Steve Newell hit a three-run homer to pace Woodland past East Grand of Danforth.

Newell also had a base hit while Donald Phelps and Craig Moody each had a double and two singles and two RBIs. Corey Townsend pitched two scoreless innings after Hunt.

Brent Byers and Josh Barnes had the only East Grand hits.

At Thorndike, Patrick Howell pitched the shutout by allowing just two hits and two walks while striking out six for Lincoln Academy.

Lucas Searscott drove in the winning run on a two-out single in the fourth inning for Lincoln Academy. Joe Clark doubled and singled and scored the run and Howell also singled.

Mike Light doubled for Mount View and John Wentworth singled.

Mike Mayer allowed just one run on four hits and one walk while striking out five.
