Members of Maine’s new Regulatory Fairness Board were announced Wednesday. The board will hear testimony and report to the governor and Legislature on regulatory and statutory changes to enhance the state’s business climate.
The members are: Peter Bowman of Kittery, a retired Navy captain and former commander of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard; Timothy Carter of Bethel, owner and operator of a farm in Bethel and a former employee of the U.S. Department of Agriculture; Larry Schneider of Newcastle, owner of Aw Shucks!, a Maine company that manufactures and markets the patented Aw Shucks! oyster opener; Elliot Stanley of Portland, former owner of New England Antigenics, which specialized in allergenic source material supplies; Debbie Elliott of Falmouth, owner of Debbie Elliott Salon and Day Spa, with locations in Portland and Newport; Ed Phillips of Winthrop, owner of Tel-Comm Contracting Inc. of Winthrop; and Marge Kilkelly of Dresden, former state senator, original sponsor of the legislation creating the fairness board and owner of Dragonfly Cove Enterprises.
