Reports of OD lead to arrest

A woman was arrested and a man was issued a summons early Thursday morning after police in Bangor investigated reports of a possible drug overdose.

Several officers went to a Hancock Street apartment around 2:30 a.m. Police had been at the same address last week for suspected drug activity and an alleged assault involving a baseball bat.

On Thursday, officers met a woman, Kelly Dawn Seeley, 26, of Bangor, who appeared visibly intoxicated, according to the police report. A check of her name indicated Seeley was in violation of her bail conditions, and she was arrested.

Police found a man in the apartment who appeared to be doing drugs, as evidenced by blue powder on a table and blue chunks inside the man’s nose, according to police.

Douglas Sargent, no age given, told police the substance was Vicodin, a prescription painkiller, and that he was snorting the drug rather than ingesting it. Sargent did not have a valid prescription and was charged with possession of a Schedule W drug.

Bangor police are on the lookout for a car that was stolen earlier this week from a local business.

Transco Business Technologies on Odlin Road reported Wednesday the theft of a green 2001 Mazda Protege. The car, which was parked outside the business’s offices, reportedly was taken between 8 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday.

The car had been moved out of a garage to make room for another vehicle and the keys were left inside, according to police. There were no suspects as of Thursday.

A woman suffered minor injuries Wednesday evening when she was struck by a vehicle while trying to cross a street.

Tammy Burke, 25, of Bangor was in the crosswalk of Franklin Street when a 2002 Chevy SUV driven by Judson Strong, 25, of Bangor turned left from Hammond Street and hit her.

Police said Burke was wearing dark clothing and the area of Franklin and Hammond streets also was dark. Strong told police he didn’t see the woman.

Burke complained of general pain and was evaluated, but her injuries were not considered serious.

Strong was not charged.
