Stanevicz propels Bangor Coastal, Bucksport, Ellsworth also post victories

BANGOR – Joe Stanevicz pitched five hitless innings to earn a win, had a double, a single and two RBIs, and led Bangor to a 10-2 win over Brewer at Mansfield Stadium in the Little League District 3 Junior League all-stars championship game Friday.

The game was called in the top of the seventh inning due to fog.

Jacques Larochelle had a triple, a double, and two RBIs for Bangor. Tyler Desjardins had two singles and two RBIs, Sam Patterson two singles and an RBI, and Brandon Landry two singles.

Spencer Warmuth’s infield single was Brewer’s only hit.

At East Sullivan, Fred Lebel had three singles and an RBI to lift Coastal past Sunrise.

Nick Kane and Josh Gale each had three singles and Cameron Lawson two singles and a double for the winners.

Matt Moore led Sunrise with two singles, a double and an RBI. Brendan Kenney and Joe Perrault each singled three times.

At Machias, Chris Giosia singled twice and doubled to knock in three runs as Bucksport rolled by Machias.

Chris Farrell doubled and singled for Bucksport.

Brian Getchell led Machias with a two-run double while Toby Woods doubled.

At Machias, Matt Clark had two singles, a double and three RBIs to lead Ellsworth past Machias.

Brandon Burleigh tripled and singled to knock in a run for the winners.

Dustin Getchell had an RBI double for Machias and Jacob Shoppe doubled.
