Local survivors of the 1941 Pearl Harbor attack honored the day at home Sunday, as the annual memorial ceremony was postponed because of snow.
Events to mark the 62nd anniversary of the day that “will live in infamy” have been rescheduled for noon Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Kenduskeag Plaza, according to planning committee chairman Paul Colburn.
The ceremony will include an introduction of local Pearl Harbor survivors and a floral salute, as well as musical tributes and a salute performed by the Bangor High School Junior ROTC rifle squad. Col. Douglas Damon, retired from the Maine Air National Guard, will deliver the Pearl Harbor Day address.
After the ceremony, fish chowder will be served at the Norman Dow VFW Post 1761 on outer Hammond Street.
