I would like LD 1409 to be passed in the state of Maine. Mercury fillings are unhealthy especially for pregnant women and us kids – I am nine years old. I think that mercury fillings are very ugly, they look like cavities. I think that you should make a good choice and get rid of mercury now. If you don’t get rid of it now then children will still get mercury in their mouths and not know it. And it goes to their brains.

I don’t think that the dentists should put mercury in anyone’s mouths without permission. The people of Maine are getting exposed to mercury without knowing and they just think that it is a regular silver filling. They have no idea that mercury is poisonous and mercury is harmful.

I do not think that it is fair for the dentists to put mercury in anyone’s mouths, but the dentists do not think it is harmful. Why don’t they use common sense and know that if we can’t use mercury for anything else we shouldn’t be able to put it in people’s mouths.

Please help pass LD 1409 and let the dentists tell people if they are going to put mercury in people’s mouths and ban it from pregnant women and children. Let pregnant women and children be mercury-free and healthy.
