Martin helps Warriors win fourth game

DYER BROOK – Shawna Martin netted 15 points to help lead the undefeated Southern Aroostook Warriors to a 60-36 schoolgirl basketball win over the Katahdin Cougars Thursday night.

Olivia McGary scored 14 for the Warriors. Audrey Charette had 11 points and Mindy Watson had 12 assists.

K.C. Duffy-Stanley and Kristlie McMoran each netted nine points for the Cougars of Stacyville.

Ames sets scoring record

At Dexter, 6-foot-4 junior center Ashley Ames poured in 33 points, breaking a Dexter girls single game scoring record shared by her coach, to lead the undefeated Tigers to their fifth victory.

Current Dexter coach Margaret (Clark) Veazie scored 31 points in 1977 and Shawna McKenney matched that feat in the early 1980s.

On Wednesday, Brittany Veazie chipped in with 13 points and seven steals for the winners.

Ashley Peabody paced Schenck of East Millinocket with eight points.

GHCA wins two

At North Haven, Greater Houlton Christian Academy evened its record to 2-2 with a 47-26 win over North Haven on Thursday and a 44-24 victory on Wednesday.

Amanda Jago paced GHCA with 20 points in Thursday’s win and Megan Korhonen put in 11. Laura Barrett scored 10 for North Haven.

Lacey Farrar scored 10 points for GHCA in Wednesday’s victory while Korhonen put in nine and Colleen Sjoberg had 11 rebounds. Jamie Lane scored nine points for North Haven.

Islesboro 48, Pine Tree 36

At Islesboro, Crystal Love had 14 points and seven rebounds to help lead Islesboro past Pine Tree Adademy of Freeport.

Caitlin Anderson scored 10 points and had eight rebounds and six steals for Islesboro. Kate Hauprich added 10 pionts.

Brittney Lounder netted 15 points for Pine Tree and Rachel Hautman had nine.

GHCA wins two games

At North Haven, Matt Hathaway scored 21 points to lead Greater Houlton Christian Academy by North Haven 65-52 on Thursday after scoring 18 points in GHCA’s 59-44 victory over North Haven on Wednesday.

Emery Lincoln chipped in with 16 points for GHCA on Thursday and Silas Kelly put in 14. Ansel Orne paced North Haven with 17 points and Ryan Lantagne netted 11.

Lincoln helped out with 12 points on Wednesday for GHCA and Drew Farrar added 11 points. Geoff Barrett paced North Haven with 15 and Lantagne put in 11.
