UPEI sweeps UM-Fort Kent
At Fort Kent Sunday, Michael Kierstead scored 22 points to lead the University of Prince Edward Island to an 82-68 win over UM-Fort Kent, completing a weekend sweep of the Bengals. UPEI won Saturday’s game 93-80.
In Sunday’s game, Jeff Walker added 18 points for the winners. Bartas Samaitis poured in 36 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for UMFK.
In Saturday’s game, Tyler Wood paced UPEI with 27 points, five assists, and four steals. Roy Goldstein’s 25 points led the Bengals. Chad Gervais added 13 points, Chris York had 12, and Samaitis scored 11.

Senior guard Bayi Handy scored 19 points to lead the UMM Clippers to the overtime win in the championship game of the Atlantic Coast Classic.
Gary Dusssard had 18 points for the 13-6 Clippers. Tournament MVP Jeremiah Johnson had 16 points, Wayne Clarke added 14 and Dan Midgley scored 13. Handy was also named to the all-tourney team.
Jason Corner led St. Thomas with 21 points and Andrew Robson had 20. David Robson scored 17, Steve Lawrence added 15, and Alex Daley contributed 12.
