Cyr gets Cougars past FF Katahdin boys net 11th victory

FORT FAIRFIELD – Sam Cyr scored 25 points to help lead Katahdin of Stacyville to a 61-56 win over Fort Fairfield in boys basketball action Friday.

Patrick Willett netted 13 points for the Cougars.

Brandon LeVasseur had 22 points and 16 rebounds for Fort Fairfield and Keith Edgecomb added 18 points and 15 rebounds.

Guidelines for coaches

During this busy sports season, the NEWS asks that managers and coaches for the home teams promptly report the games. Games can be reported starting at 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday and 3 p.m. on Sundays. Games can not be reported on Saturday.

Those seeking to report games from the Greater Bangor area may call at 990-8275. Those outside the Bangor area may call toll free at 1-800-310-8600. Game results will also be accepted through the fax machine. Its number is 990-8092.

Coaches and managers are urged to provide details for both teams when reporting games. First names of players on both teams as well as statistics are needed. Those not providing full details for both teams run the risk of the games not being published in the paper.
