HARRINGTON – Haley Torrey’s steal and 8-foot jumper with 1:12 remaining capped a game-ending 7-0 rally that enabled eighth seed Narraguagus to defeat Limestone/Maine School of Science and Mathematics 43-42 in Eastern Maine Class C girls preliminary-round basketball action Tuesday.
Missy Barbee triggered the rally with a 3-pointer and then hit a driving layup with 1:20 left to pull the Knights within one.
Barbee and Elizabeth Grant had 15 points apiece and Grant cleared 11 rebounds. Torrey finished with eight points and 10 steals.
Nikki Michaud’s 15 points, Lindsey Beaulieu’s 13 points, and Haley Redmond’s game-high 12 rebounds paced the ninth-seeded Eagles.
