BANGOR – Penobscot Theatre Company and Brewer Youth Theatre have announced the start of registration for their cooperative Summer Creative Arts Program. Camps will be led by Penobscot Theatre actors-teachers and Rich Kimball, assistant principal of Brewer Middle School.
“We are thrilled to be working with Brewer Middle School again this coming summer,” said Mark Torres, producing artistic director of Penobscot Theatre. “It’s great to work one-on-one with so many talented individuals who are looking ahead to college theater courses – and careers in the field.”
Two Youth Camp sessions are available this year for ages 7-12, 9 a.m.-noon July 5-16 or July 19-30. Musical Camp is available for ages 12-17, 1:30-4:30 p.m. July 5-16. Shakespeare Camp, for ages 13-18, meets 1:30-4:30 p.m. July 19-30.
The camps take place at Brewer Middle School and culminate in final performances for the community at the Bangor Opera House.
Advanced Acting for ages 16-22 runs 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Aug. 2-13 and will be held at the Bangor Opera House.
Youth and musical camps are $240 each. Teen Shakespeare Camp is $260. Advanced Acting is $390 and requires an audition for registration. For more information or to register, call the box office at 942-3333, or visit the Bangor Opera House at 131 Main St.
