Madawaska’s Jessica Ayotte earned a first-place tie with Jay’s Rachel Gagnon as skimeister in the state Class C skiing championships held this week at Black Mountain in Rumford and Sunday River in Bethel.

Ayotte and Gagnon both totaled 13 points of the skiers competing in all four events of giant slalom, slalom, and cross country classical and freestyle. Ayotte earned places of fourth in giant slalom, first in slalom, fifth in classical, and third in freestyle.

Gagnon finished seventh in giant slalom, third in slalom, first in classical, and second in freestyle.
