CORINNA – The American Legion Post 73 raised $1,000 during a benefit bingo Jan. 31 for Army Spc. 4 Fred Allen Jr., who was wounded in Iraq on Oct. 31, 2003. The post presented the check to his mother, Brenda Allen, and his sister Kathy Kennedy at the Legion meeting on Monday, Feb. 16.

Allen is rehabilitating at Fort Bragg, N.C.
