Van Buren pupils join broad recycling effort

VAN BUREN – Gateway Elementary School pupils are trying to earn free playground equipment by participating in the Funding Factory Recycling Program.

The program collects empty printer cartridges and used cell phones in an effort to keep them out of landfills. Gateway Elementary School is one of the more than 24,000 organizations nationwide participating in the program.

Companies interested in participating in the program can join the Funding Factory Business Support Program free of charge. Funding Factory will send each supporting business free, postage-paid shipping boxes for the return of collected cartridges and cell phones. Community and business supporters also can drop off cartridges and cell phones at Gateway Elementary School.

For information, call Brenda L. Deveau at 868-5469, e-mail dandev@nci3.net., log on to www.FundingFactory.com or call 1-888-883-8237.
