ROCKPORT – Keynote speakers for the Class of 2004’s graduation ceremony at Rockport College on Friday will be school founder and president David Lyman, renowned still photographer Joyce Tenneson, and David Jones, an award-winning film, stage and television director.
The ceremony, which begins at 10 a.m. at Rockport Opera House, is free and open to the public.
Graduating students include photographers, filmmakers and new-media artists from the associate of arts and the master of fine arts degree programs, and the professional certificate program at Rockport College. The college is the academic partner to The Maine Photographic Workshops. At 7 p.m. on Thursday, the college will hold an exhibition and a screening of all students’ work at a public reception at the Gallery in Union Hall in the center of Rockport village.
The work of 40 photographers will be displayed, representing a variety of printing techniques and subject matter.
Beginning at 8:30 p.m., eight short students films, produced locally and featuring local actors, will be screened at the Rockport Opera House. Admission is free.
