CALAIS – Jason Francis’ one-out double in the top of the eighth scored Derek Maloney from second to give the Shead Tigers a 2-1 high school baseball victory over the Calais Blue Devils Wednesday.
Maloney, who singled and stole second in the eighth, also pitched a three-hitter and walked just one batter for the Tigers of Eastport.
Scott Macdonald’s RBI single with two outs in the sixth provided the Calais run. Scott Geel took the loss despite pitching a three-hitter as well.

At Blue Hill, Christy Moon hit a game-ending grand slam to power George Stevens Academy by Piscataquis Community of Guilford.
Moon also hit a two-run homer to back winning pitcher Rachael Wardwell, who allowed only one hit while striking out four and walking two.
Liz Tyler chipped in with a double, single and three RBIs and Hilary Thibodeau and Chelsea Duddy each added two singles for GSA. Thibodeau also had two RBIs.
