Shead Tigers use balanced attack GSA, Royals, Raiders post wins

MACHIAS – Cody Billmer hit a two-run home run and a double to lead the Shead Tigers to a 10-6 schoolboy baseball victory over the Machias Bulldogs Friday.

Anthony Lewey added a double and a single and Derek Maloney singled twice for Shead, which rallied from an early 3-0 deficit.

Isaiah Roberts had three singles for Machias, while Marcus Frutchey singled twice and Austin Roberts and Jesse Bunker each doubled.

At Deer Isle, Collin Henry hit a two-run homer in the first inning and singled to pace George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill.

Lance Gail had three singles and an RBI for the Eagles.

Bryant Ciomei singled twice and Nick Ciomei hit a solo homer in the first for the Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners.

At Calais, James Ramsdell had three singles and Nick Wood and Sam Hostetter added two singles each as Washington Academy of East Machias pulled away with 16 runs in its last three at-bats.

Steve Colbeth pitched a three-hitter and added a double for WA.

Jacob Ludington paced Calais with a two-run double.

Paul Herman led Belfast with a two-run home run and a single, while Nick Arthers and Silas Ratten each had a double, single, and RBI.

At Calais, Danielle O’Brien tripled in the fourth inning to plate Jamie Doliber and scored on a sacrifice fly by winning pitcher Steph Perry as the Blue Devils narrowly remained unbeaten.

Jessica Whittaker also tripled for Calais, and Darcey Gillespie added an RBI single.

Justine Ramsdell, Lauren Finn and Meghan Look each singled for the Raiders of East Machias.

Annie Babineau singled twice, doubled, and drove in two runs. Amber Leathers went 5-for-5 at the plate and had an RBI.

Nori Francis-Mezger had an RBI single in the top of the seventh, along with two previous singles. Theresa Cameron singled twice for the Vikings.

At Deer Isle, Liz Tyler led the Eagles with six hits, including two triples, a double and three singles. She also drove in seven runs.

Chelsea Duddy single four times, doubled, and drove in a run. Rachel Wardwell had two doubles, two singles, and three RBIs. Rachel Winters doubled, singled three times, and had an RBI. Robin had a two-run home run, two singles, and four RBIs.

For the Mariners, Regyn Lawry singled twice and Anna Boyce had an RBI single.

At Machias, Stephanie Whitman scored the game-winning run from first base on a Christi Holmes single to right field in the seventh inning to give Machias the late win.

Eileen Alley hit three singles and a double to drive in a run for Machias and Monique St. Pierre had an RBI single in the fourth inning.

Claire Neville doubled and singled for Camden Hills, and Nikki Rubenstein hit two singles.
