GEORGE KEEFE
Keefe, a member of the John Bapst of Bangor baseball team, went 7 for 12 at the plate in three games for the Crusaders with seven runs scored, seven RBIs, a double, a home run and six stolen bases.
Small School (Classes C-D)
PETER GERARD
Gerard, a pitcher for the Madawaska baseball team, hurled a no-hitter as the Owls knocked off then-unbeaten Washburn 4-0 on Saturday. Gerard struck out 15 and walked just four for Madawaska.
GIRLS
Big School (Classes A-B)
AMY FREEMAN
Freeman, a Brewer High senior, had two game-winning hits for the 9-1 Witches. She hit an RBI double in the top of the seventh in an 8-5 win over Bangor Monday, and Thursday she hit an RBI triple in the top of the 10th for a 5-2 victory over Old Town. She had a solo homer and a double in a game against Nokomis Saturday.
Small School (Classes C-D)
OLIVIA ALFORD
The Orono High track and field senior helped the Red Riots earn a second-place finish at a Saturday meet with four wins. Alford won the 100-meter dash in 12.99 seconds, the 200 in 26.44, ran the second leg of the winning 4×100 relay and anchored the winning 4×400 relay.
