Raiders rally past Knights in 7th

EAST MACHIAS – Pinch runner Amanda Snowdeal scored on a passed ball to highlight a six-hit, six-run seventh inning rally Wednesday that gave Washington Academy a 9-8 high school softball victory over Narraguagus of Harrington.

Megan Look tripled and singled, driving in two runs, for the winners while Ashley Tilton singled twice.

Hailey Torrey doubled, singled twice and knocked in two runs for the Knights. Elise Dublin had two singles.

Belfast 14, Rockland 2

At Belfast, Ashley Higgins collected two doubles, two singles and knocked in two runs as the Lions rolled.

Kate Ross singled in three runs while Britt Reed had four singles and two RBIs for Belfast. Stephanie Whittier hit a three-run homer and struck out seven on the mound. Lauren Overlock singled and drove in three.

Nicole Clark, Caitlyn Grant and Lyndsay Barnes singled for the Tigers.

At Woodland, Alicia Vose doubled and singled to drive in two runs to help lead Woodland to the victory.

Kelsy Snowman had two singles and a RBI for the Dragons and Kaitlyn Leeman doubled.

Kristin Hersom hit a triple and a single for Lee Academy. Marci Moore tripled with an RBI and Samantha Cole had an RBI single.

At Calais, Darcey Gillespie hit a solo home run and a single to drive in two runs and help push Calais to the victory.

Jessica Whittaker and Stephanie Perry combined for 13 strikeouts for Calais. Chrissy Driscoll hit two singles and Nicki Ellington had an RBI single.

Stephanie Whitman had three singles and an RBI for Machias and Monique St. Pierre hit a RBI single.

At Howland, Randy Rackley had four singles and Jennifer Plourde tripled twice to lead host Penobscot Valley to victory.

Tiffany Brown tripled and singled for the Howlers, while Jamie Milton added a triple.

Heather Hutchison had two doubles and a single for Deer Isle-Stonington, while Keegan McDonnell doubled.

At Milo, Dani Graves earned the two-hit shutout by striking out 12 and giving up just one walk to lead Penquis to the win.

Michelle Mulherin had a double and two singles with two RBIs for Penquis and Mindy Polley doubled.

Breanne Kingsbury and Kristen Kronholm singled for Searsport.

At Eastport, Britney Lingley homered, doubled, singled and drove in four runs as the Tigers won.

Lingley also pitched a one-hitter with four strikeouts for Shead. Roliza Dewitt had two singles and two RBIs and Celia Cummings hit a two-run single.

Renee Jordan singled with two outs in the seventh to break up the no-hitter.

At Lincoln, Jaide Littlefield doubled and singled to knock in two runs to help Mattanawcook Academy to the win.

Chelsey Nicastro singled twice with an RBI for the Lynx and Kasse Brown singled twice.

Jodi Pinkham had two doubles with an RBI for Sumner of East Sullivan. Holly Stanwood doubled.

At Thorndike, Beth Heron doubled to score Lexi Coleman in the top of the seventh inning to give Camden Hills of Rockport the win.

Allyson Ettinger doubled and singled with an RBI for the Windjammers and Jodi Newcombe doubled and singled. Winner Miranda Kelly struck out eight and walked none.

Jenna Caler hit an RBI single for Mount View.
