Allison’s single lifts Bucksport

BUCKSPORT – Matt Allison singled over the drawn-in outfield with one out and the bases loaded in the eighth inning to give Bucksport a come-from-behind 6-5 baseball triumph over Orono Thursday.

A walk to Robbie Pushard, Joe Robicheau’s single and an intentional walk set the stage for Allison’s game-winner.

Allison’s RBI fielder’s choice and Chris Remick’s sacrifice fly tied the game in the fifth.

Robicheau had three singles while Pushard, Ted Cooke and Chris Maguire had two apiece for the Bucks, who trailed 5-1.

Ryan Levesque hit a three-run homer and three singles for Orono and had four RBIs and Bryan Hennigan singled twice.

At Deer Isle, D.J. McCleary hit a solo home run in the fourth inning to help push Bangor Christian past Deer Isle-Stonington.

Willy Hinkley had a pinch-hit, two-run single in the sixth inning for the Patriots and Tory Dearborn singled twice.

Rob Haskell hit a two-run single in the third inning for Deer Isle Stonington and Nick Ciomei added two singles.

At Thorndike, John Wentworth singled to bring in Justin Johndro and the tie-breaking run in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Mustangs gained a win.

Wentworth had a total of four singles and two RBIs. Aaron Lewis singled three times while Johndro singled twice. Willy Crichton and Clifford Gardner each knocked in two runs.

Pat Howell had three singles and Joe Clark singled and doubled for the Eagles.

At Blue Hill, Collin Henry gave up just one run on four hits and one walk while fanning 11 to help George Stevens Academy to the win.

Henry also tripled, doubled, and singled to knock in three runs for the Eagles. Adam Cousins had a double and a single with a RBI and Harrison Hines singled with two RBIs.

Nick Swanson, Andy Pooler, Tim Buell, and Brad Staples each singled for Mount Desert Island and Sam Merril scored their run.

At Newport, Kevin Brooks’ two-run triple followed by Jason Huntley’s RBI single keyed a five-run fourth inning that led Hampden Academy past Nokomis.

Brooks had two singles to go with his triple and drove in three runs. Ian Lee and Pat Moran also had three RBIs as Lee tripled and doubled and Moran tripled and singled. Billy Shannon chipped in with three singles and two RBIs.

Seth Bradstreet doubled and singled and drove in two runs for Nokomis and Josh Vile had two singles and an RBI.

At Blue Hill, Robin Rioux drove in three runs with two singles, including a two-run single in a decisive four-run second inning, as George Stevens Academy upended Mount Desert Island.

Patty Lymburner and Brittany Davis also had two singles for the Eagles, who won for the ninth time in their last 10 games. Lymburner singled in a second-inning run.

Nia Megquier had a pair of singles for MDI.

At Newport, Lisa Johnson singled twice and drove in two runs to help lead the Hampden Academy Broncos.

Nellie Wood doubled for the Broncos.

Tatum Welch’s triiple and Lisa Johnson’s single were the lone Warriors’ hits.

At Bucksport, Katie Hurd doubled and singled to drive in three runs and help lead Bucksport past Orono.

Nicole Smith hit three singles for the Golden Bucks and Alice Andrews had two singles and three RBIs. Terren Hall singled twice with two RBIs and Jessie MacDonald hit two singles.

Michelle Nickerson doubled for Orono and Rachel Joyce hit a RBI single.

At Greenville, Darcie Larsen pitched a two-hitter, struck out seven, and walked one to lead the Lakers by Averill of Hinckley.

Elisa Gray and Beth Bartley each singled three times while Michaela Bartley hit a solo home run in the fifth. Leslie Harris doubled and singled.

Singles by Danielle Gowen and Courtney Ducey were Averill’s only hits.

At Bangor, Kelly White allowed six hits while notching nine strikeouts and walking three to improve to 9-2.

Emily Heath had two singles and two stolen bases for Bangor. Jamie Kowalski broke things open with a three-run single in the fourth. Katy MacDonald added two singles.

Sara Jones had a triple, single, and a run for the Indians. Liz Bergeron singled twice.
