PORTLAND – A North Berwick man has been sentenced to 11 years, three months in prison for possessing and receiving child pornography and possession of firearms by a felon.
Donald Woodward, 54, was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court.
During a 1999 search of Woodward’s home, U.S. Customs agents found two computers and hundreds of diskettes containing thousands of pornographic images of children, prosecutors said.
The government said its investigation showed that Woodward had been communicating over the Internet with someone in Kansas City who was sending him images of a 6-year-old child whom the individual in Kansas City was sexually assaulting.
Also seized at Woodward’s home were a .22-caliber rifle and a 20-gauge shotgun.
