Tip Fairchild

Sophomore pitcher-infielder Tip Fairchild of the University of Southern Maine baseball team has been named NCAA Division III All-America third team. He compiled a 9-1 record with three saves and a staff-low 1.41 earned run average. He worked 70 innings, allowing 51 hits and 18 walks while striking out 72. Fairchild was second in the Little East Conference in wins and among the leaders in innings pitched, strikeouts and saves. In addition, he batted .364 with 12 doubles, one triple, five home runs and 26 RBIs.
