ORANGEBURG, N.Y. – Rich Scalamandre allowed only three hits Thursday to lift Dominican to a 10-0 victory over Thomas College of Waterville in first game of the best-of-three series in the NAIA Region 10 baseball playoffs.
Dominican reached Thomas pitchers for 12 hits and the Terriers committed three errors. Orlando Recio had three hits for the winners and Chris Canelliz had two.
Lance Haynes and Geoff Burnham each doubled for Thomas. Burnham took the loss.

At Gorham, Jason Dority stroked a three-run double to highlight a four-run first inning that carried the Huskies to victory in the Little East Conference tourney.
Dority had another double to pace Southern Maine, which got a double and two singles from Brian Marshall and a double and single from Shaun Richardson. Mark Russell pitched 6? innings to earn the win.
Matt Price doubled and singled with two RBIs for Plymouth State.

Saint Joseph’s splits
At Lakewood, N.J., Kristen Gaudette fashioned a six-hit shutout to help Saint Joseph’s stave off elimination with a 3-0 victory over Green Mountain (Vt.) in the NAIA Northeast Regional.
In the opener, Holy Family (Pa.) blanked the Monks 5-0.
In the second game, Kelly Premo’s two-run single in the third gave Gaudette all the runs she would need. Sue Picard singled twice and Cortney Sirois hit a single and a sacrifice fly.
Sarah Allen doubled and singled for Green Mountain.
In the first game, Allison Maddock pitched a three-hitter to beat the Monks. Losing pitcher Sarah Webster, Premo, and Kristen Gaudette singled for Saint Joseph’s.
Melissa Zebley hit a solo home run and three singles to pace Holy Family.
