SummerKeys concert in Lubec on June 30

LUBEC – Pianist Greg Biss and violinist Lynn Brubaker will be featured in the second SummerKeys Mary Potterton Memorial piano concert next week.

They will perform Beethoven’s Sonata in C minor, Schumann’s Sonata in A minor, Ives’ Sonata No. 4 “Camp Meeting,” Vitali’s “Chaconne” and Albeniz-Heifitz’s “Sevilla.”

The concert will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, at the Lubec Congregational Church. A boat is available for a fee for Eastporters who call 853-2500. The concert is free, but donations to the piano tuning fund will be accepted.

The two musicians are familiar to Down East residents. They not only perform regularly in the area but are active as Maine Touring Artists for educational programs.

An Eastporter, Greg Biss, recently retired from commercial scuba diving in the aquaculture industry, is now a full-time pianist performing, composing and teaching, as well as tuning pianos.

Brubaker lives in Machiasport but performs with the Bangor Symphony Orchestra, serving as concertmaster. She also teaches.
