A Corinth man was arrested early Sunday after he allegedly broke into a Sidney Street residence and fell asleep on a couch.

Justin Dunton, 22, was charged with criminal mischief and criminal trespassing after Officers Steve Pelletier and Robert Hutchings of the Bangor Police Department received a call from the Sidney Street residence in which the resident said there was a man she didn’t recognize asleep on her couch, according to Pelletier’s report.

Officer Pelletier wrote that he observed a broken window as he approached the residence. Upon entering the house, Pelletier and Hutchings found Dunton asleep on a couch, naked from the waist down.

Pelletier and Hutchings awakened Dunton and helped him put his pants on as they handcuffed him. Dunton was clearly intoxicated, according to Pelletier, and said he had had “one or two” 40-ounce beers. Dunton also said he thought he was at a Main Street residence.

Dunton was taken to Penobscot County Jail without incident.

Two men were arrested early Monday after they were warned repeatedly to stay out of the middle of several Bangor streets.

James Phee, 29, and Robert Lovett, 23, were arrested and charged with obstructing a public way after being warned by Bangor police to stay out of the middle of the street at several different locations.

Officer Douglas Moore of the Bangor Police Department saw Phee and Lovett standing in the middle of the intersection at Main Street and Union Street.

Phee and Lovett did not move when Moore drove up to them from Union Street, according to reports. Moore said the two were obviously intoxicated.

Moore told Phee and Lovett to move out of the middle of the road. They complied, but reportedly were seen in the middle of Main Street in front of The Grasshopper Shop a few minutes later.

Moore responded again, along with Sgt. Paul Edwards. Lovett was holding a stack of fliers for his band, and said that “they had been trying to get arrested for the last six hours,” according to Moore’s report.

Phee and Lovett, whose hometowns were not available, then were told if they did not get out of the road they would be brought to jail. Phee and Lovett complied by moving onto the sidewalk. A few minutes later, Moore reported seeing Phee and Lovett walking down the yellow dividing line on State Street.

Officer Shawn Green assisted Moore in arresting Phee and Lovett and charging them with obstructing a public way. Green took Phee to Penobscot County Jail. Moore took Lovett to Penobscot County Jail as well.
