Bangor West stars edge Bangor East

BANGOR – Sam Patterson cranked a three-run home run and Kyle Savage struck out 12 to lead Bangor West to a 3-2 Little League baseball victory over Bangor East in all-star action for ages 11-12 Saturday morning.

Cody McInnis reached on a bunt single in the first, Savage followed with a walk and Patterson homered.

Savage didn’t walk a batter and gave up six hits for the winners. Brandon Landry chipped in with a double.

Bud Angst singled twice for Bangor East and Nate Lewis added an RBI single. Lonnie Hackett struck out 13, walked one and scattered seven hits.

Hampden 16, Orono-Veazie 4

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Hampden took advantage of three Orono-Veazie errors in the fourth to score seven runs on two hits and never looked back.

Brennan Perry had a double, a single and two RBIs while Patrick Stephens had a double and two RBIs, and Tyler Miles had an RBI triple for Hampden.

Aaron Healy hit an RBI double for Orono-Veazie. Pat Miller added a double.

Holbrook 3, Brewer 1

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Nick Smith struck out 11 batters and gave up seven hits in seven innings to lead Holbrook to the win.

Nick Smith had two singles and an RBI for Holbrook.

Kaleb Smith singled three times and drove in a run for Brewer. Mike Kotredes singled twice.

Bangor 8, Lincoln 2

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Ian Edwards pitched a three-hitter while striking out 11 batters and yielding two walks to pace Bangor.

Shane Walton hit two home runs for Bangor, the first a two-run blast in the first and the second an inside-the-park version for two runs in the third. He also tripled. Kyle Gallant had two singles and an RBI and Christian LaRochelle singled twice.

Bourcard Nesin singled twice for Lincoln.

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Glenburn picked up a forfeit victory after Old Town failed to fulfill the mandatory play requirement for its players.

Hermon 15, Brewer 0

At Millinocket, Tyler Fournier singled three times and pitched a one-hitter with seven strikeouts as Hermon breezed past Brewer.

Frankie Chagnon singled four times for Hermon, and Dean Watson singled twice.

Tyler White singled for Brewer.

At Millinocket, Wyatt Frost and Josiah Hartley each doubled and singled for Bangor West.

Carl Farnham singled twice and also struck out 14 batters. Jonathan Matheson added a double.

Shawn Curran doubled for Holbrook, and Keith Nelson had an RBI single.

Millinocket 12, Lincoln 4

At Millinocket, Charlie Tapley singled twice and doubled twice in Millinocket’s victory.

Jonathan Dumas, Brian Plourde, and Jordan Morrow each added a single.

Ryan O’Hara of Lincoln had an RBI triple.

Bucksport 15, Calais 7

At Bucksport, Andrew Giosia hit an out-of-the-park home run in the top of the second inning to spark Bucksport.

Giosia also singled twice for the winners. Billy Deredin and Chris Powell each tripled twice.

Adam Geel and Michael Gardiner had two singles apiece for Calais.
