Moore, Hermon tip Bangor West

MILLINOCKET – Nick Moore hit a two-run single to help Hermon knock off Bangor West 7-6 Friday in a District 3 Little League baseball all-star game for ages 9-10.

Williams Perkins added two singles for Hermon.

Jonathan Matheson led Bangor West with two singles and Josiah Hartley chipped in with a triple.

Old Town 17, Glenburn 5

At Old Town, Hannah Morin hit two singles and scored three times to help push Old Town past Glenburn.

Whitney Leland and Whitney Buck each singled twice for Old Town and Riley Mahan hit a double.

Breianna Tocci and Alexis Casey both hit two singles for Glenburn.

At Mansfield Stadium, Bangor, Jim Cox gave up just five hits and three walks while striking out 12 to earn the shut out for Bangor.

Kyle Leeman tripled to drive in three runs for Bangor and Ben Silver had two singles with two RBIs. Gordon Webb had a double with a RBI and Ben Estabrook hit a RBI single.

Justin Morin hit two singles for Old Town and Travis Bryant doubled.

Ellsworth 4, Machias 1

At Ellsworth, Thomas Sawyer singled and scored two runs and allowed only one run on two hits and three walks while striking out nine to lead Ellsworth past Machias.

Cote Card and Kyle Haslam each walked and scored a run for Ellsworth.

Toby Woods doubled and gave up one hit and three walks and struck out 16 for Machias and Aaron Hoffman.
