BANGOR – Nate McKeown pitched a no-hitter and struck out 11 while walking only one to help East Biddeford to the 17-0 win over Bangor East in Game 4 of the Little League All-Star baseball tourney Saturday.

Yarmouth cruised to the 14-1 win over Ellsworth in Game 3 on Saturday and Bangor East came back to take the 11-8 win over Waterville on Sunday.

Game 6 between Waldo and Ellsworth was suspended in the second inning due to rain with Ellsworth leading 3-1. lay will resume on Monday at 3 p.m.

In Game 3, Harry Ridge hit a triple and two singles to drive in a run for Yarmouth and Louie Distasio had a double and two singles with two RBIs. Ryan Cody singled three times to knock in a run and Campbell Haley tripled and doubled with three RBIs.

Tom Sawyer singled for Ellsworth’s only hit.

In Game 4, Brady Fleurent hit a triple and three singles to drive in three runs for East Biddeford and Patrick Wilson tripled, doubled, and singled with three RBIs.

In Game 5, Collin Kimsey had three singles with three RBIs for Bangor East and John Szewczyk also had three singles with two RBIs. Bryan Rouleau tripled to bring in three runs and Chris Howat singled twice with a RBI.

J.T. Whitten tripled and doubled to knock in two runs for Waterville. Travis Duperry had a double and a single with two RBIs and Jordan Derosby added a double and a single.

Bangor finishes second

At Tom’s River, N.J., a team of Bangor area teens finished as the runnerup by just three runs at the Lightning Strikes Classic invitational tournament.

Lightning may not have struck, but plenty of rain did, washing out all of Sunday’s tourney action and the anticipated game between the only tourney unbeatens: Bangor and the New York City Sharks.

As a result, the Sharks were proclaimed the winners since they scored three more runs than Bangor in three victories.

In Saturday’s first game, Stacey Gomm pitched a five-hitter while Taylor Lauritsen had a single and two RBIs, and Katy MacDonald singled for one RBI in Bangor’s 4-2 victory over the South New Jersey Outlaws.

In the second game, MacDonald threw a two-hitter and drove in a run with a single to pace Bangor to a 3-2 win over the Brooklyn (N.Y.) Cyclones.

Jamie Gomm hit a two-run double to highlight a three-run third inning.

In the third game, Jamie Gomm came a seventh inning Amy Jackman single away from a no-hitter as she struck out seven batters and walked one. Gomm’s sacrifice fly scored sister Stacey, who singled, stole second, and went to third on a passed ball, in the third. Stacey Gomm and Lauritsen each hit RBI singles in the sixth.
