Christine Snow-Reaser of Dayton and Buster Byrnes of Northport were named the Maine Games Athletes of the Year in 2004.

Snow-Reaser won gold medals in the 800, 1600 and 3200- and won the Eastern Trail Alliance 5K race. Byrnes won medals in seven different events in the track and field meet in Portland. Both qualified for the State Games of America next summer in Colorado Springs.
