BANGOR – Yarmouth scored six runs in the first two innings for an early lead en route to a 10-1 Little League All-Star win over East Biddeford to win the ages 9-10 state title at the 13th Street Complex Friday.
Yarmouth went undefeated in the tourney after winning its first game last Friday 17-0 over Waterville. The state champs then beat Ellsworth 14-1 on Saturday, followed by a 10- win over Yarmouth on Monday.
Nick Mellville notched a two-run double for the winners in the championship game. Marshall Brunelle added two singles with two RBIs.
Mike Vadnais led East Biddeford with a double, single and an RBI.

At the Waterville High School field, Dave Butler doubled twice to lead Vision Express of Waterville by the Bangor Babe Ruth team in the Waterville Babe Ruth Tourney.
Eli Fitzgerald and Brian Bridger each added two singles for the winners.
Chris Folsom and James Butts each had an RBI single for Bangor.
