HAMPDEN – The Hampden Recreation Department has lined up a roster of programs for children, including soccer, art and horseback riding for its 2004-2005 season.

Sessions are:

. Fall, Sept. 7-Oct.30. Registration deadline, Aug. 25.

. Winter I, Nov. 29-Feb. 5. Registration deadline, Nov. 15.

. Winter II, Feb. 28-April 9. Registration deadline, Feb. 16.

. Spring, May 2-June 11, 2005. Registration deadline, April 20.

. Summer, June 20-Aug. 12, 2005. Registration deadline varies.

Programs in the fall session include cheering for kindergarten to grade-six children; flag football for children age 4 to those in third grade; little stars sports sampler for 3- and 4-year-olds; fall soccer for age 4 through grade-six children; adventures in art for children in grades three, four and five; and horseback riding for children age 7 and up.

In addition, the recreation department offers a senior fitness class for those age 50 and older, coed adult volleyball and karate lessons with fourth degree black belt holder Bruce Barker.

Those wishing to participate in the fall session are urged to register before the Aug. 25 deadline. Late registrations, department officials said, result in program cancellations, teams that are too large, less playing time for participants, not enough supplies and no other team to play.
