AUGUSTA – A ceremony to honor 28 soldiers from the 133rd Engineer Battalion who served in Iraq with the 878th Engineer Battalion will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at the Augusta State Armory.
The 133rd Battalion is composed of soldiers from the Belfast area. The ceremony is part of the Freedom Salute Campaign, a program designed to publicly acknowledge Army National Guard soldiers and those who supported them during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Remarks will be made by U.S. Rep. Tom Allen and Brig. Gen. Bill Libby, Maine’s adjutant general.
