Corinth’s Craig earns three top-three finishes

MAMMOTH, Calif. – Adam Craig of Corinth earned three top-three finishes at the inaugural U.S. Mountain Biking Championships held at Mammoth Mountain last weekend.

Craig placed second in the meet’s feature event, the men’s pro cross country race, trailing only U.S. Olympian Jeremy Horgan-Kobelski of Boulder, Colo., who completed the race in 1 hour, 54 minutes, 1.57 seconds. Craig, who rode with Horgan-Kobelski for much of the race, finished in 1:57:24.76.

Craig was crowned national champion in the men’s pro Super D (downhill) race, winning in 22:48.62. The Giant/Pearl Izumi rider also placed third in the men’s pro short track race with a time of 26:52.05.
