A Maine Day story published Saturday, Feb. 24, reported that Canaan firefighters receive $2,000 a year in reimbursement. The $2,000 annual payment is split among all firefighters, according to Assistant Chief John Graf.

The number of signatures on the Aroostook County petition asking the Legislature to consider ways to stop coyotes from killing deer should have been stated as “more than 1,000,” not “about 100” as printed in a story in Saturday’s paper.

A news item in Saturday-Sunday, Feb. 25-26, editions on page B3 contained an incorrect spelling for an honors student at Bangor High School. Senior Amanda Blastow received high honors.

The photo of the elephant on Page One of the Saturday-Sunday, Feb. 25-26, paper was taken at a traveling circus in Fairfield, not at the Bangor State Fair, in 1998.

A Page One story in Monday’s paper omitted that a total of 83 dog teams were entered in the first running of the Katahdin Sled Dog Race held over the weekend in Sherman and Patten.
