The Associated Press reported incorrectly May 9 that the Department of Agriculture is proposing to cut cranberry production by one-third. That proposal came from the industry’s Cranberry Marketing Committee and is one of three being considered by the Department of Agriculture. Also under consideration is a proposal by some growers to cap production at 54 percent of the normal crop. Another alternative being considered is to put no cap on production. The department will take comment on the proposals until May 29.
