In an Aug. 27 story about the death of an 8-year-old boy crushed by an elevator, The Associated Press reported erroneously on who hired a private inspector to check the elevator at the Bethel Inn prior to the death last week. The inspector was hired by the Bethel Inn, not the state of Maine.
A Penquis story published in Tuesday’s Maine Day carried an incorrect title for Richard Gould. He is the Greenville code enforcement officer.
