Because of an incorrect press release from the Maine Forest Service, it was incorrectly reported in the July 20 Maine Day section that Scott Hanington, 41, of Hanington Timberlands in Wytopitlock had agreed to pay more than $6,000 in fines and restitution for illegally harvesting 275 trees without the permission of the landowners. In fact, Hanington agreed to pay $5,377.49 in restitution and $300 in filing fees. The agreement was reached by all parties involved and approved by the court.
The name of a Madawaska girls soccer player was listed incorrectly in Thursday’s paper. Her name is Lynel Winters.
