It was reported incorrectly in an article printed Wednesday that Dexter resident Sue Burton indicated that her husband, a management official at Dexter Shoe Co., was aware of the company’s closing before Tuesday morning.

A story in the County edition of Wednesday’s Maine Day about the Presque Isle City Council recommendations for a north-south highway and a city bypass incorrectly reported that Councilor Cluny McPherson was in favor of upgrades to Route 1. In fact, McPherson supported an Interstate 95 extension north from Smyrna.

In a story in the County edition of Wednesday’s Maine Day about discussions by the Presque Isle City Council concerning a nude dancing ordinance, it was reported incorrectly that Councilor Cluny McPherson suggested that the city develop an ordinance and have it reviewed by the courts. In fact, McPherson’s suggestion was to adopt an ordinance from another community that already had been approved by the courts.

A story in Wednesday’s edition indicated that the Bangor Daily News would make American flags on newsprint available for $1 each. The NEWS administration has decided to make the flags available free to the public at the counter at the paper’s main entrance on Buck Street in Bangor.

A news item in the city edition of Saturday’s paper gave an incorrect date for the Hampden Kiwanis monthly baked bean and casserole supper. The correct date is Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Kiwanis Civic Center.
